The Proposition
As companies grow the need for operational back up grows, full time Finance Directors (FDs) and Financial Controllers (FCs) are very expensive (salary, NICs, pensions, benefits, holidays, etc…) and mostly not required full time.
So the FlexiFD/FC is able to take over some of the more mundane financial and operational stuff and leave the owner more time to concentrate on building the business. Helping the owner to work on the business rather than in it.
The FlexiFD's role is to assist with:
- Strategic and exit planning
- Operation management
- Scorecarding/internal reporting (possibly external)
- Continuous budgeting and feed back
So Why A FlexiFD
- Much cheaper than a full time
- Much more flexible than a full time, you call off when needed, Pay as you Go
- Good radar, analysis to spot potential threats early
- Multi sector experience
- Operational support
- Crisis management
- Sounding board/confidential advisor
- Mentoring based on previous experience
